Ceftaroline Fosamil

Ceftaroline Fosamil

Ceftaroline fosamil is an antibiotic to treat pneumonia and bacterial infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissue that are difficult to treat. This medicine is only effective to treat bacterial infections, not to overcome viral infections.

Ceftaroline fosamil belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics  . Ceftaroline fosamil works by disrupting the production of peptidoglycan  which is important in the formation of the bacterial cell wall, so that the bacteria become weak and eventually die.
